This is not a standard text book on chess strategy. While it is a chess book, I have tried to approach the subject of chess strategy in a way which I believe is not typical for most books on the subject. I have attemped to build a bridge between two very different yet still related fields: business strategy and chess strategy. Chess strategy outdates business strategy by some 100 years. Usually, the first world champion in chess history, Wilhelm Steinitz, is credited for introducing systematic strategic thinking into chess in the last part of the 19th century. Business strategy, on the other hand, didn't receive much attention - either in academia or in business practice - until the 1960s.
